Katrin was educated at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Hamburg. She was design director at Hoberman Associates and consulted on foldable products for a major children‘s product manufacturer. With Ronnette Riley Architect, Katrin consulted on the first sustainable daycare center in Williamsburg, New York. In 1997, she founded Specific Objects Inc., an interdisciplinary design practice in New York. For Material ConneXion, Katrin curated and designed a show on sustainable products entitled “Glamorous Green”. She has taught at Parsons, University of the Arts, Pratt and PennDesign, and has lectured and exhibited internationally. She was awarded in the Design Plus competition in Frankfurt for her hearing aid design. In 2011/2012, Katrin held a residency at the European Ceramic Workcentre in The Netherlands, where she completed her work on the T-Stool.
